Paint the Town Read is planning to start in Nowra. Let’s Read will be a member of Paint the Town Read committee.
The Basin Preschool
After attending the Let’s Read course we gave each child a Let's Read bag, a book to keep and some information for parents about the importance of reading to their child. We also set up a borrowing library for our families to borrow books from preschool. We encouraged families to use their child’s Let’s Read bag as a borrowing bag to borrow from our library. We have had so much success with this. Every day we have families borrowing books from our library and using their Let’s Read bag. We change the books regularly, we send out reminders to parents to encourage them to continue to borrow from the library and we tell the children to remind their families as well. On enrolment we give each new child a Let’s Read bag with the information. It has been very worthwhile.
