Face-to-face training

Are you interested in starting a Let’s Read Community Program in your area to help kids read, play and learn with books?

Face-to-face training is available to community-based professionals to help them establish the Let's Read program in their community and promote reading with children from birth. The training can be completed in four hours, or over a series of shorter sessions.

Who can deliver Let's Read?

Many professionals in community settings or community services already have a close and trusting working relationship with families. These professionals are best placed to deliver Let’s Read key messages, resources and activities that promote the importance of reading with children from birth.

Some examples of professionals who may be well placed to attend training in order to deliver Let’s Read with families are:

  • Community child health nurses
  • Primary school teachers
  • Playgroup coordinators
  • Early childhood education and care educators
  • Community workers
  • Community elders
  • Community health workers
  • Home-visiting health personnel
  • Librarians
  • Social workers
  • Child health practitioners
  • General practitioners/paediatricians
  • Community Leaders
